The Toledo Metal Furniture Company was founded in 1901 and produced furniture until the 1950s. The company was known for its UHL Art Steel line of furniture. The UHL Art Steel line included chairs, stools, and tables. The chairs were made of pressed and formed steel with wood seats. The UHL Art Steel chairs were designed to be durable and functional while also being aesthetically pleasing. The chairs are highly sought after by collectors and are considered an iconic piece of industrial design.
This set includes three likely circa 1920s UHL chairs in varying colours and sizes. Two blue with wood seats and one rust coloured with a black leather seat. Aside from the leather seat all three chairs are in original condition with beautiful patina throughout. Back rest height is 2" taller on rust coloured chair.
