Etta Benjamin Cien (1924-2010) was an American artist born in St. Louis, MO. She and her husband were famous for their marionette act "The LeRoy Brothers" during the vaudeville era and opened for stars like Danny Thomas, Jimmy Durante, and Louis Armstrong. In Hollywood, CA, they ran "Hillside House of Originals", a framing store and art gallery where they sold their own sculptures and paintings and eventually other artists' work with showrooms in major metropolitan cities across the U.S..
Etta's mid-century modern style artwork, featuring abstract compositions and colorful still lifes, has become highly collectible in recent years. She used oil on canvas as her medium to create surreal and expressive scenes with geometric shapes and organic forms. Her paintings often have a sense of movement and depth, reflecting her background in performing arts.
